last night

so i get a call from ajay, around 10:15, and he's like "my battery just died, and AAA jumped it (he said triple-a, not aaa), but now i have to drive around for 25 minutes while it recharges or whatnot" so he comes and picks me and thad up, but before jon can get outside, he takes off because - and here is the kicker - whenever he slows down in his car, the car's headlights and interior lights literally dimmed. like, when he hit the gas we saw the clock in his dash get brigher and his headlights too. it was something.

so after driving up to powderhouse and around and back, we get jon, and then ajay starts driving around. he gets frustrated on the side streets because he has to stop behind cars and lights and whatnot, so he decides the best idea is to get on 93. i'm yelling for general gau's, and other people are yelling about entropy, so we end up getting on 93 southbound, towards boston. big mistake.

we go along for a while, but then, about 20 feet after we missed the exit for sullivan square, ajay sees all the stopped cars in front of us - traffic jam. cars are going sooo slow. we are crawling, and ajay has to put the gas on just to get the car to not fade out completely, but he can't put on the gas that much because of the close proximity of other cars and whatnot. so, we are crawling, and then there's a little lurch, and thad says "uh, ajay...", and then the car completely stops. in the right lane of 93-south. in heavy traffic.

the best part is that ajay's car is an automatic, so it shift-locked into park, and we couldn't get it into neutral so we could roll it out of the way. there was a closed lane on our right, so there would have been room to move the car, but instead we had to leave it in its current lane, and put construction cones behind it so people would go around. and then we had to get out of the car cuz it was in traffic and if we stayed in it we would have a good chance of death.

so we got out of the car. and we soon realized it was very very windy and very very cold outside (i heard something like 15-20 below zero, when the windchill was taken into account). so yeah, we are FREEZING. and we stand outside in this for like 30 minutes. ajay has to wait in the car so he doesn't die (he wasn't well-dressed) - and the rest of us get delirious from the cold and wind until nick and the towtruck from AAA (triple-a) come at about the same time and save us.

so that was the first story - i was stuck on 93 south with thad and jon and ajay for 30 minutes last night. that would be post-worthy enough, but then something fucked up happened much later. at about 1:45, i'm about to fall asleep, and theres a squeal and a crash, and i look outside, and down the street to the right is a volvo with no back tire and right immediately in front of my house is a black car that has smashed into my downstair neighbor's car and come inches from colin's car. yeah, huge accident. the guy in the black car was _really_ drunk, and was yelling about how the other car cut him off and how he wasn't speeding. oh, yeah, a cop was there IMMEDIATELY somehow, and arrested the guy from the black car, and then there were fire engines and ambulances and everyone in the house waking up and seeing what was going on. colin's car got a little damage, mike's car (our neighbor) got a decent wack, but thank god nobody was outside cuz it would have been bad. anyways, that capped off the night, cuz i had to go outside in not enough clothes and stand in the cold some more while colin dealt with his car situation. and on top of it, that was generally fucked up.

ok, i'm spent. i hope the post system doesn't cut off this brilliant post
