draft?

0053-march26-2003
yeah we had our fantasy draft. it was live, and i missed half of it, but it was still amazing. my team is really good, and to be honest, i think geoff, thad, and phil are my only competition. yeah, i'm laying down the gauntlet.

phil and thad both sorta requested a run-down of the draft, but i don't think i'm going to tackle this one. i think the next time i do anything i might keep a running journal and throw it all up here as a post though. that'd be fun i think. and it'd be my chance to actually try and be funny and see how that works out.

geoff is pissy that nobody reads his stories, so i'm shamelessly plugging it right now. go look at his goddamn stories why don'tcha?

i apparently blew away my webstats program when i reformatted (2 days ago) so i lost all my personal webstats. on the first of april i'll probably start keeping track again. i still have the huge count, but i don't have the breakdown and the more "accurate" numbers. anyways, you guys don't care about that.

what you do care about are pictures, and i have some, but i haven't put em up here quite yet. rest assured that i will soon, so don't sweat it.

this post turned out a little longer than expected. let me just share one gem with you

thad picks tomo ohka. needles comments, "nice pick, for a girl". needles then promptly grabs moises "no hammies" alou. yeah, that was hilarity.

one more -
thad drafts j.d. drew. "j.d. drew?" i exclaimed. "draft someone who doesn't suck!" then i go and get frank thomas. yeah i should think before i say things i guess.

the only people who will get these jokes are the people who were there. and chad. so chad, i hope you liked em.

if geoff wants people to read his stories, he should write new ones. his last one was march 7. that's 20 days old. and i have been complimenting him on his stories. i don't want to hear any more complaining!

hey niv you still in for those 10 to 1 odds?? :)

re: let me get this straight

from: niv (2003-03-28 12:46:20)

so if i bet $1, and phil beats you, i get $10? but if you beat phil, you get the $1? that sounds really interesting...

re: cocky

from: parker (2003-03-28 20:04:30)

yup. although it's probably more accurately at 5 or 6 to 1... but i'm cocky... i'll stick to 10 to 1.

re: i want in

from: thad (2003-03-28 20:29:43)

can i get in on this too?

re: respone to all

from: geoff (2003-03-29 10:30:38)

emily: i know that you read my stories. and i am grateful. i promise you a new one when i get back to school. its just that with finals and break and all, i havent had a chance to write one in a while. but when i get back, the new one will be dedicated to you, my biggest fan,

everyone else: i want to make easy money too.

i want in. and so does thad. and geoff. i'm definitely putting down $2 on phil.

re: $$$

Yea - put me down to. I am in for a $1 on phil. I mean, with all the money parker has won online, we should all share the wealth (either that or parker will reap another windfall).

you weaklings, show me at least a $5 minimum, i need to get something out of this to bring to atlantic city this summer to play poker with...(aka ajays latter statement most likely)

only niv can get the 10-1 as that was the opening spread. now with all the money on that bet, i gotta be a real booky and change the lines up a little so you boys can get it now at 6-1.

re: alright

from: niv (2003-03-30 12:15:22)

put me down for $10. 6-1 for everyone else? wanker.

i got those jokes the first time i read them...then realized a few moments ago that i drafted jd drew in two separate leagues, in late rounds, cause everyone is scared of injured people. when he is healthy, i will have the last laugh...

and drafting frank thomas is like picking up patrick ewing in an nba fantasy league...you are better than that niv
