every day, either on my drive home or on my drive to work, i struggle in my mind with one question, a question that i have yet to answer and has caused so much wrangling in my mind that it is a miracle that i can comprehend anything.

the question isn't a complicated one, but the answer to it is. it is multi-layered, and requires you to examine yourself in order to give a fair answer. it might be the most difficult question of all time:

which smashing pumpkins album is the best, gish, siamese dream, or mcis?

if you are a fan of the pumpkins at all, i'm sure this question has caused you much pain as well. the albums are so different, yet so similar. they all start in different places but end up in the same ultimate destination of greatness. i used to say mcis was the best solely based on how varied it is, but the power of gish reappeared to me in a dream, and i quiver at the very thought of putting siamese dream in my car stereo on the way home today.
