so i was messing around with foobar 2000, which is what i use to play mp3s on my computer now, and i found this sick plugin called audioscrobbler. strange name, i know. but it is pretty sweet - it records the music you've been listening to, and uses these stats to tell you of other music you might like. it also stores all these stats, so you can see what you listen to the most. it ALSO has a huge database of users, and using all these users together, it creates a most-listened-to list. which is incredible.
i think this system works better than winamp5's most played thing, cuz it seems to recognize when you skip a song within the first 3 seconds, which is key.
also, you can sign up in like 2 seconds, and it doesn't require an email, and the plugin is pretty transparent (meaning, you have no real way of knowing that its running).
i guess if your internet got cut off it might complain a little. i am not sure. but check out my profile! you can stalk me more now. yay.
another attempt to motivate the masses
