something with a bit more je ne sais crois

at some point i should go through my database and report on the bands i listen to when i post. i'm sure the pumpkins are way, way up there. unlike the foo fighters and the deftones, the amount i've listened to the pumpkins has actually increased since high school. the beatles can't really figure in to this conversation because i listened to them excessively before college, and i listen to them slightly less excessively now. but only slightly less.

anyways, i've posted a couple gmail conversations (aka emails) that i've had with geoff and chad over the last few days. the thing is, i have like 25-30 of these stored on gmail. like, 25-30 conversations of anywhere from 10 to 95 emails back and forth, with varying degrees of witty banter. now just reading some of this stuff and talking to geoff about turning it into a sitcom has gotten my creative juices flowing. i want to make changes to the site, i want to write a short story or a one-act play, i dunno, i want to do something. this sitcom thing has wings, which is insane. and i sort of want to write a movie after reading sports guy analyze why he likes 'singles' (a movie i've never seen) over 'reality bites' (a movie i detest). subtext: i think you should all write a movie. at least one. it seems to me to be an incredibly challenging and good exercise. i guess i should have send "write a good movie", not just a movie. but you dig it.

ok that was a run-on paragraph. i'm doing more of a stream-of-consciousness thing than a write out a nice structured post thing. these usually turn out more interesting than the formalized crap.

but i digress.

so the point is - are these emails actually funny? or are they too 'inside'?

i got a xbox on saturday, saving $15 because of massachusetts's first ever tax holiday. the setup right now consists of the system, an extra type S (read: small) green controller, and madden 2005. madden 2005 comes with a 2month trial of xbox live which means i can play geoff for 2 months online before i have to decide if i want to drop the $7 a month for xbox live. but again, i digress. the point is, i purchased my 7th non-portable console (NES, Genesis, N64, Dreamcast, PS, Gamecube, Xbox) on saturday, and i'm a goddamn video game fiend. and what have i done with madden? what have i done with this xbox?

nothing.

i haven't opened the damn thing yet.

jen has been here since last thursday. i think she's leaving tomorrow, but its a nice open-ended stay that has 'forced' me to keep the xbox box closed. i say 'forced' because it hasn't really been that much hard work. and that's saying something.

anyways, i think sometime this week i'm going to start writing something big. bigger than a haiku. bigger than a poem. bigger than a post. we'll see if i get around to it. then again, i have a xbox to play with and a chad to pick up from manchester on thursday (i think its thursday... yeah i should check). in conclusion, there aren't enough days in the week.

final note - shout out to ken, because he's saving my ass at the end of the month (helping me move). yay ken!

What’s with all this free time? Xbox live? Friends visiting? Writing movies?

Shouldn't you be putting in 60 hr weeks now that you're full time?

Oh, and you can take your French and "shove it." We don't like it here in the land of freedom fries.

So get back to work fishbowl boy. I want a good economy waiting for me when I get out of school.

P.S. Thanks you for falling for the trap of buying stuff on tax free day. Go economy, go!

just for the record, niv, despite being nice, uses the word "forced" very liberally

we all know niv is a jerk, you don't have to defend him.
