hey. so, i came really close to losing all of this site. all the photos, all the posts, everything. somehow, i didn't. i can't explain it. but yeah, it's here, and other than losing a few old pics, i think its fine.
my main issue is speed now. my old box, penguin, was a bit speedier than this one, dubbed elephant. elephants are slow and heavy and obsolete, much like this computer. i need a new webserver box. or i can give in to chris and finally pay for webhosting (dreamhost, i guess, though it seems to be a bit much).
i'd prefer a new computer though.
anyways, lots of posts have been lost to the ether because i don't write things down, but i've moved in (mostly) and work is good (mostly) and today was my first pay day as a real employee.
i'm back!

Dreamhost is great for me, because I do host more than just a simple personal page. I get a lot of hits for my geek code generator (for whatever reason, because it sucks) and other things. So relying on my own internet connection and worrying about keeping my own server up and running is hassle I don't need :)
Although, my Linux box is pretty nice, a dual ppro 200 with enough RAM (320mb).

glad the scorch is back to its old self again. it's been a long month.
but, elephants are obsolete? slow, and heavy, and fat, and stupid yeah...but i'm not sure an entire species can be classified as obsolete....that sucks for them if they are.
