i promised a review, and now i'll deliver. i think the best review is geoff's take on the game though. from "i hate racing games and this is a racing game" to "fine i'll buy it because you won't talk to me until i do" to "this game is awesome, i've been giggling straight through"the game has a simple premise. up to 6 cars, race through streets and country roads, and the circuits increase in speed and quality of vehicle. it's pretty logical, actually. the catch is the wonderful crashing/takedown system which rewards you for driving into traffic, coming close to hitting cars, avoiding accidents, causing other cars to crash, and even for having a spectacular crash. now, for most racing games, crashing is fucking frustrating, which is probably why geoff was hesitant to get this one in the first place. however, since crashing (to an extent) is fun and you can even get advantages over your opponents (if you say, move your burning car in their path and force them to crash), the main complaint an unskilled idiot driver like me would have against the game is gone.
and that's just the mechanics of race mode. within race mode there are straight up race, 1v1 races, eliminator races (5 laps, last place each lap gets eliminated) and grand prix mode. i spend 35% of my time racing.
the rest of the time (65%) i spend in crash mode.
yeah, crash mode.
you get a car. long stretch of road. drive real fast into a huge intersection with cars, trucks, vans, gas tankers, etc and lots of powerups (crashbreakers, point multipliers, cashbonuses) and see how much monetary damage you can cause.
i really really really don't think i need to embellish any further on this mode.
anyways, burnout 3 - xbox and ps2 - go get it. and if you have a gamecube, get burnout 2, i hear its pretty tight too.
i forgot to add a tamale rating. 19. yeah, 19. fucking amazingly fun game.

re: comment
you also promised some comments about your next door neighbor, and I don't mean Arjune
