hum - downward is heavenward

1627-november22-2004
so this is the kind of post that makes me want to add search functionality. before posting this i wanted to quickly go back and see how many times i've mentioned hum in this space. unfortunately, i can't do that easily so we'll just assume that i've done it more than a few times and you guys all know i like hum. if you don't, i fucking love this band called 'hum'.

i remember getting their cd from crazy bobby one of the first months i was at hawken, so pretty soon after the disc came out. i made it into mp3s, and then i eventually bought it (the actual purchase was made relatively late, once i was already in college). this cd, downward is heavenward, is fucking amazing. and i want their other good good cd, you'd prefer an astronaut (its on my amazon.com wishlist just waiting for me to randomly buy it)

but anyways, the point of this post isn't to blab on about how good this cd is, but instead to blab on about how i'm so fucking right about how good this cd is. allmusic.com agrees with me about hum! and allmusic.com (despite its shitty website) has damn fine tastes. now i just gotta look at pitchforkmedia and see if the snootiest reviewers on the web like hum.
The wait was well worth the product, as Downward Is Heavenward is one of the most darkly romantic and timeless albums ever created. Hum's gorgeous, spacey and limitless sound expanding to new lengths
