we got more posts brewing. i promise. we say that a lot but we mean it this time. we are even using the royal 'we'. that's how serious we are.on to picks.
stl +4 at seattle has to be the toughest game ever to pick. both these teams are terrible, and neither would be in the playoffs if they just took the top 12 teams and didn't have conferences. seattle pains me especially because their qb, matt hasselbeck, was my #4 pick in my home league. i won the league despite his awfulness, which he did turn around towards the end. i hate the stl coach and pretty much that whole team, so no real bias either way - both these teams suck. i gotta take STL though, just because the seattle defense is horrid. just terrible. i'm sure the rams won't score lots of points (even though their offensive talent dictates they should!), but they should do enough to win outright.
jets +6.5 at san diego is much easier to pick. why? because the jets played like crap all the way down the stretch (5-0 start, 5-6 the rest of the way), pennington is clearly still hurt, their secondary is suspect, and their wr corps just isn't that good. the chargers are one of the best teams in the league (top 4 are all afc, what a world), their defense is awesome, and drew brees just won the comeback player of the year (he's the qb... so we're talking a good qb against the aforementioned suspect secondary... yeah). throw in LT, one of the best all-around backs in the league, and i think we got a blowout by the chargers on our hands.
denver +9.5 at indy isn't even intriguing to me. remember the chiefs-colts last year? now take out a great chiefs offense, replace with a not nearly as good broncos offense... yeah. granted, champ bailey is out there covering one of them colts wrs. unfortunately, there's 3 great ones and 2 great tight ends. oh and a rb having a career year. and the colts defense has improved. and they are playing in the dome. i think we have our perfect formula for the colts to win blowout #2.
minnesota +6 at green bay should be a good game, if you consider their last 2 games indicative of anything. they were both tight, well-played exciting games. however, this is the playoffs. and the vikings are the definitive choke-artist team of this post-dynasty parity-filled generation. and if you think picking against favre at home in the playoffs is a good idea, i don't know what to tell you. this game is just so clear-cut in favor of the packers, i'm tempted to take the vikings just because vegas can't lose this much money in one weekend, with only one game giving me much doubt. but nah, i'll stick with my guns, and while i'm not expecting a blowout, i do think the packers win by more than a td.

re: the chargers suck
so i didn't realize the chargers are completely incapable of throwing the ball downfield.
