being a real person

1410-january31-2005
being a real person sucks ass. i wish i had the capability to defend this statement with charts and graphs and shit, and i'm sure i could, but being at work and all, i don't have time.

here is the breakdown, as i see it.
college
1) as much free time as you want - class is clearly optional
2) lots and lots of people that are in your general age group with which to 'hang' and/or 'partay'
3) the one negative - papers and shit. which is still more mentally stimulating than almost anything i've done in the real world

real world
1) income
2) very little off-hours work. or very little work to do when not at work.
3) not optional
4) old people.
5) all my friends moved to different corners of the country, the asshats.

i think graphs would have pushed this post from the B range to the A-/A range, but i've always been satisifed with the easy B that required no work.

i mean, i feel like if you'd at least cited something, even our im conv from this morning, you would've gotten the B+ that every prof at Tufts gives to everyone who obviously did the bare minimum.

first off you posted twice

second off, that's true in poli sci. not in history or cs.

it's fine, no hard feelings.

1a-- i did not post twice. my stinky slow work computer did.

2b-- i wouldn't say that's less true of history... maybe you just didn't cite your sources, as illustrated above, hehe.

it depended. if the professor took themself seriously, then my lack of reading books or doing research bit me in the ass

hehe.

monsterniv (4:22:44 PM): you and i have differing definitions of bare minimum
monsterniv (4:22:56 PM): i feel like my bare minimum is really far lower than most liberal arts students
Floriengler (4:23:45 PM): hahahahaha
Floriengler (4:23:49 PM): very possible

There's a webpage all about this, comparing college life to work life. Complete with pie charts and graphs, its hillarious. I'll keep looking for it.

it's from craigslist.

it's a lot more sex-centric though
