sometimes basketball is really simple. two teams play each other. one scores more points, draws more fouls and thus makes more free throws, causes more turnovers because they play with more energy, and generally makes every play you want from them. um. they win by 20.
so that's what happened last night, especially in the first half.
so the question arises - why do the PISTONS, the team that made a living on playing with defensive energy, have an issue with not being energetic enough? they are lazy and complacent. they aren't hungry. they HAD to have more energy to beat miami on the road in game 7, so i'm not sure who this team is and what they did with the real pistons but they are making my prediction of a sweep look pretty good.
so i think i overstated in my last nba-related post when i said the pistons would have problems with the top 4 teams in the west. i think they'd handle the sonics and have a good series with the mavs, but the suns and spurs just have too much offensive firepower and can score in too many ways.
and then on top of it, the spurs play defense.
its all good stuff.
but yeah, pretty simple game last night.
