oh we have many things to cover, so let's just jump into it, shall we?well first let's start with grand theft auto: san andreas. it's been in the news recently, but that's not why i care to bring it up right now. i played the game for about 3 days and then stopped. i thought the game wasn't that good. i'm not sure what i wrote here, but looking back, i can see that the game was just a lame rehash of the original one; the original is still playable and much more fun, to be honest - the cars are better, the world is more interesting, etc. anyways, here is an argument for it being the most overhyped game of 2004 which i mostly agree with, and here is a list of overhyped games with gta at #1. i don't fully agree with that second list, but i do agree with their take on GTA. so do any of you guys like the latest iteration of gta?
nitin emailed me, and in the spirit of 11th grade english class, i will relay his whisper to me to the rest of the class. pretty soon he's gonna have to start talking for himself, though.
instead of having actual links to old content from back in the day...good work, nitin.
You could just have archives of old "screensots" from the wayback machine
These are the interesting various "old" el scorcho's that I could find:

ira ross imed me yesterday; i went to high school with the kid in case you guys don't know the name. anyways, he said he liked the redesign here a lot so i figured i'd publicly thank him and whatnot.
final point- i got a new laptop yesterday! this one, unlike all the ones before it, is one that i actually purchased. it's a hp nc6220, the most basic model. i chose it because it is a very nice 1.04 inches thick and it still maintains a very usable 14inch display. there's other stuff - built in wireless, decent hard drive, cd burner - that are all nice and all, but thin with a decent display is all i need to get some programming done... or instant messaging. whichever.
i guess that preceding point wasn't the final one, but i'm too lazy to scroll up and rewrite things. i'm going to play poker with some guys from monster tomorrow. should be an interesting time - none of my direct coworkers are going to be there, but there will be a few guys who i worked with and who may not have known i was leaving until i was gone. so we'll see how that works out.
UPDATE
i reviewed team sleep's debut over at music.elscorcho.org - go read.
also, i forgot to tell a funny story about my laptop. maybe not funny as much as weird. anyways-
i turned on the laptop for the first time and in the top right corner, lookin back at me without a care in the world, was a single green pixel. so, pixels have two kind of defective states. one is a 'dead' state, where the pixel just does not fire because it is busted. these aren't reparable, time to get a new screen, etc. the other kind is an overactive pixel that is 'stuck' on a color. you should note here that the color the pixel is stuck on could theoretically be black. just consider that. anyways, this little fucker was stuck on green. so i went through the setting up process and rebooted a few times and still the pixel wouldn't clear up. apparently sometimes pixels are 'slow' and need some time to get warmed up. this is especially true for stuck pixels. anyways, i'm getting pissed because there's potential that i got a bad laptop, but i decide, once i set up my laptop, to go a-googlin' to figure out how to fix the stuck pixel problem.
i found this bad boy which fixes stuck pixels on psps. the idea is that somehow flashing lots of colors to the stuck pixel helps 'warm' up the pixel or something, and unsticks it. anyways, the theory works on lcd screens as well, as you can read on that link. i downloaded the video, spent 20 minutes finding a f'n media player for the damn thing (software is such a pain in the ass now) and finally got it going. i played the video for 10 minutes on repeat in full screen mode, with the lid of the laptop down so i wouldn't be hypnotized by the vid. i open up the laptop to see the pixel... still there. what the fuck. i let it run longer after reading that some people had to run the video for a day to fix their stuck pixel problem. 20 minutes later, i want results so i open up to find the green pixel looking right back at me. i get pissed and poke my screen pretty hard right there.
and that worked.
so, my screen is fine now.

re: you think too much
the first thing i would have done in that situation
is poke the pixel
i'm just saying
sometimes it pays to be a caveman
also
gta:sa rules!
more than gta3 anyway
but not as much as vice city
