best salad ever
if a meal contains lettuce, onions, bacon, steak, and blue cheese dressing, can it be referred to as a salad?

re: get out of my head
i was 100% thinking about how it was about ratios. its mostly lettuce, and thus mostly salad. its also mostly delicious.

Also, there's the question of arrangement. Is the bacon and steak tossed onto a bed of lettuce? (A bed of evil.. and lettuce!) Or is it arranged with the lettuce artfully around a solid steak with bacon on top.
Of course, you wouldn't call potato, egg, or chicken salad a "salad" in the health-consious sense but they are a salad if you call a salad a bunch of stuff all mixed together. And no i'm not going to look up salad in a dictionary, someone else can take that one.
re: salad
i contend that if lettuce is prominently involved, and it's not a sandwich, it's a salad. case closed.
re: comment
i like it. i'm gonna call that thad's law. or article one of the thad bill of rights. either/or
re: comment
how about Thad's first maxim. Or Thad's corollary to Emeril Lagasse's first law of cooking?
re: comment
article two of the thad bill of rights:
i contend that whenever ken references emeril lagasse, he shalt be punched in the face thrice.

re: relativity
entirely depends on ratios man
its all about ratios
a bowl of lettuce, chopped onions, crumbled bacon, a few slices of steak, and blue cheese dressing is a salad
not a healthy one
but a salad
