remember this sordid tale? that headlight cost me $900 in repairs because the electrical system was shit.

so imagine my joy when i saw the indicator on my dash indicating that a light had gone out somewhere on my camry. i took the car into jiffy lube for an oil change and told them to check for a bulb being out.

$6 to replace the brake light.

so that was nice.

i posted a couple of things over on music.elscorcho.org for you to go check out. thad beat me 4-0 v 3-1 on nfl games last weekend, so i have some ground to pick up this weekend - i'll have my picks posted friday sometime, i think. also, i officially owe thad $1 as he lasted longer than me in a freeroll poker tournament yesterday.

partypoker gives "points" to players who play on their site. these points can be used to buy in to tournaments or can be used to score partypoker merchandise. i have about 5500 partypoker points in my account. there is no merch that i have any interest in and i have no interest in playing any more online poker, and partypoker is threatening to take away all my points if i don't use them or keep my account active. rather than letting them take all those points, i will probably play somewhere around 11 more of these silly freerolls before shuttering down the partypoker account forever.

so the tourney was pretty short. i didn't play gamble-loose enough early on, and then ended up having to push all my chips in with shitty cards. i'm pretty sure if all you played were freerolls, you'd end up being an awful poker player... the lessons you learn early in those things are pretty bad for ring games or more serious tournaments.

eh, but you can't beat free, right?
