Your 'Do You Want the Terrorists to Win' Score: 96%
You are a terrorist-loving, Bush-bashing, "blame America first"-crowd traitor. You are in league with evil-doers who hate our freedoms. By all counts you are a liberal, and as such cleary desire the terrorists to succeed and impose their harsh theocratic restrictions on us all. You are fit to be hung for treason! Luckily George Bush is tapping your internet connection and is now aware of your thought-crime. Have a nice day.... in Guantanamo!

apparently my one anti-terrorist measure is that i think 9/11 changed everything. but not in that way, i just misunderstood - i didn't take it as a catchphrase that condones torture/wiretapping/being a general jackass, i just took it at face value.
my bad.
i was listening to this story on npr the other day (because i listen to npr on the way home just like your parents do) and now i have a theory on the infinite nature of existence: universes all the way down. think about it. 5-6 billion years to get to this point. a hundred plus more years and some dude in japan creates a universe which overtakes this one with its infinite size (making the current universe sized infinite+1). rinse, repeat.
creation becomes a chicken and egg problem. which it probably was before.
parker kept talking up elder scrolls IV: oblivion. this past weekend, i put in the vast majority of the 11 hours i've played total in that game. it's a dangerous thing - the game sucks you in and just eats time. it's pretty stunning in scope, both graphically and story-wise. the character creation stuff is very deep too, if you're into that. so, thanks parker. everyone else, consider this game recommended.
video games have been pretty central post-thanksgiving. i tried getting a wii today and failed. i refuse to go to a store and wait in a line before the damn place opens, and i think that is what it will take to get a wii before christmas. how 2005 of them. i think i'm going to give up on the wii for now; i have plenty of other games to play; to wit: my original nes plays my recently purchased copy of 'goal!' flawlessly.
so why doesn't anyone ever talk about goal!? i only assume they don't, because no one has ever come to me and said 'hey man, goal! is sweet' (with the italics and all). the game is pretty excellent though - pretty difficult, decent controls, and sick, sick music. especially in the second half. i could listen to that jam all day (maybe). a ton of elements from goal! (and i assume goal! 2, which i never played) were ripped off by ea when fifa first came out. also i spent a large portion of my childhood trying to get through the first round of the world cup with a friend of mine... which i did easily by myself two days ago.
the moral of the story: kids ARE just dumb little adults. look it up.

re: comment
yeah, goal was really hard. i always liked to play as the soviets because i too hate america.
once i got through the first round i couldn't win anything because inevitably you'd get drawn against west germany or argentina or brazil....kind of like teams with the real world cup i guess.
