damn you, february.

3 weeks ago, jen got me a black ds lite, which rekindled my interest in the DS as a platform. advance wars ds, brain age, and final fantasy IV (in which i must level my characters considerably before taking them to the moon) were played and played often.

when parker and asian and thad were here for the super bowl, my interest in civ4 was rekindled. upgrading the cpu and ram of my computer pretty much forced me to revisit that game, which remains excellent.

i'm 35 hours into twilight princess, the latest zelda (on the gamecube). it started out slow and so did i - i didn't really get into it until late january. i am about to enter the last level though. for my money, i think wind waker was a better overall experience, but twilight princess is pretty sweet.

of course, a few rounds of tiger have been played on the 360 with parker and asian, though the 360 has been slightly neglected recently. the crackdown demo had me going for a while, but then i hit the time limit and got annoyed with the whole idea of time limits. i think once that game drops to $30 or $40 i'd give it a try, but not before then. thad was pushing me to try out battlestations midway, which i still have to do at some point. maybe i'll rent it from blockbuster...

then again, maybe i won't, since i finally scored a wii yesterday, thanks in part to the phone-calling abilities of jen. i hate calling stores to ask if thing are in stock. it seems condescending and obnoxious for some reason. jen has no such problems, so she confirmed that the target about 20 miles from where i work had a wii during my lunch break. i trekked over there and got one - there were 3 more available but they wouldn't let me buy even a second one. i got 3 games as well - warioware, madden 07, and elebits. i didn't get home until 10pm last night so i didn't get a chance to do much other than update the system and bowl and golf with jen a bit, but i will pass along impressions of the other wii games as i get to them.

alright, so that was a lot of video game talk, and the silly thing is that OTHER things have been happening in february as well. last week my car froze to the street, for example (the day after the big ass blizzard in which ice fell from the sky for about 8 hours straight). and uh... i've started taking a class over at the harvard extension school (java software development! woo hoo). and i found the best chinese restaurant ever, and it just happens to be really cheap and a 30 second car ride from my apartment (china delight in somerville). none of these things is really worth a full post, unless of course i became a real writer and just extrapolated the tiniest details into 3-4 page epics that are so annoying to read because you know where i'm going about one-third of the way through the sentence and yet i keep going there and you are just left thinking "get on with it already."

i am sooo funny.

but yeah... i don't have interest in doing that right now. i have too many other things to do, and thus elscorcho suffers.
