this was a truly fun show. i felt it was a little short, but that might just be because i liked them a lot and wanted them to play everything on "return to cookie mountain." i need to get my hands on a setlist, because i didn't recognize 2 or 3 of the songs.
the opener, who we briefly caught, was not enjoyable. sorry subtle, but i speak the truth.
i don't have a ton to say about the show. the coolest thing (other than tvotr's uncanny ability to make amazing guitar noisescapes and the lead singer's amazing voice/whistling ability (which may have been sampled)) was the horn section. tvotr played providence on march 1, and i guess they met these 4 dudes there who (conveniently enough) played trumpet/trombone/tenor saxophone/bass saxophone. so.... they invited them to play the boston show, i guess? pretty fucking sweet. this is what the guitarist had to say about it - "you have to have a lot of ambition and a lot of balls to come up to a group of strangers and ask if you can play with them." they were pretty good, too.
anyways, good times had by all. you should listen to "return to cookie mountain" if you haven't yet. now.
go!
