- sunday
- woke up at a not terrible hour - 11 or so
- trilling was, in fact, alive
- had my first water ice experience at ritas before lunch
- waitress at lunch never was more than 15 feet from our table and stared at us often
- trilling and geoff were facing a window at lunch, and a guy came up and pressed his face against the window and stared at them for a good 15 seconds too. so everyone was stared at
- during lunch we joked that if i had a 2:30pm flight i'd be in trouble, so it was a good thing my flight was at 3:45. got back to the apartment and in the whirlwind weekend i had forgotten that my flight was actually at 2:45(!!)
- trilling got me to the airport at 2:30 or so. i think, i can barely remember. i waited in line until 3:30. flight still hadn't left, and was scheduled to leave at 4. i booked it through security and got to the plane... only to see that my seat had been given away to a standby passenger already. i was booked on the next flight.
- now had time to look around and see what a fucking zoo DCA had turned into. logan was closed for a few hours and it literally broke all of usairways.
- said fuck it, went back to trilling/drew's. i was flying the shuttle, so it wasn't a major problem to get rebooked.
- i am retarded.
- rather than pick me up at the airport, drew offered to pay me back for the cab. he sucks
- the flight i was rebooked on was eventually canceled (saw that coming) and the flight i barely missed actually sat on the runway for another 7 hours before taking off. what a disaster.
- monday
- stuck around for a while, eventually made it to the airport around 12 to make the 1:45 flight. my 1:45 ended up leaving at 4 or so. hilarious conversation with my cabbie on the way to the airport though. i told him i was indian, and he said he had an indian friend in college who was great at calculus and physics. he then asked me if i liked calculus, and i said i wasn't that great at it and didn't really care for it. he called me pakistani and laughed a whole lot. which is fair, because that was a pretty hilarious thing to say.
alright, so the last two days were relatively quiet, other than the ridiculous flying experience i had to go through to get back home. so, in the end, with all the trouble and all the craziness, i have to say... that weekend was totally fucking worth it.
i hope it was a fun read.
