arjune and steve and i were driving to a weezer concert out in lowell or worcester or somewhere. i was sitting in the back, and we had mellon collie on. the traffic set in right as we got past track 8 on the first disc.

we all started falling asleep to the soothing voice of billy corgan. in the car. in traffic.

arjune made the executive decision to change cds, saying something along the lines of "this is entirely too soothing" but basically thinking what all of us were thinking, which is "how the fuck did the smashing pumpkins just bore us to death?" while at the same time being careful to not hurt my feelings since i had suggested mellon collie as the pre-concert tunes.

whenever i listen to mellon collie, or any pumpkins really, i think about this. i think the issues were primarily warm weather (i assume it was warm) and traffic. i refuse to believe the smashing pumpkins are boring, even when faced with the fact that i fell asleep in the back seat of a car with arjune and steve to 'cupid de locke'.
